Caregivers & Parents

  • Consulting on co-regulation and self-regulation techniques

  • Facilitating natural and interactive play skills between caregivers and children

  • Educating on developmental play activities

  • Discussing the influence of daily habits and routines

  • Establishing time for caregivers to practice self-care and time management

  • Providing education on universal design, disability, and neurodiversity

Personalized caregiver support via virtual consultation and observations for navigating the unexpected experiences that occur with daily tasks, routines and transitions.

Children

At NurtureAlly OT, we are mindful of supporting children to develop functional skills that are purposeful and meaningful to them. In-person and virtual sessions foster volition and autonomy by keeping a neurodiversity-affirming lens and celebrating disability.

Infants

General Areas of Focus

  • Develop foundational motor skills for play, self-care, and daily activities

  • Provide developmental play strategy consultations

  • Teach breastfeeding and bottle-feeding technique

  • Guide transitions to solids (referrals available for feeding therapy related to oral motor deficits)

  • Offer carrier consultations

  • Facilitate co-regulation techniques

  • Establish sleep dyads and hygiene practices (referrals available for sleep coaching)

Young Children

  • Develop motor skills for functional performance in play, self-care, and life skills

  • Identify task adaptations or environmental modifications for improved functional performance
